17 October 2010 - Abingdon Marathon

Celia travelled to Oxfordshire to take part in the Abingdon Marathon, however it was a chilly start at minus one degree!!! The very flat course is slightly different scenery to what we're used to in Wales, with the only hill being the one coming out of the subway!!! Finished in 3:40:41 and came in at 20th vet35.

2 October 2010 - Argentan Half Marathon

19 September 2010 - Presteigne Pacers’ Two Rivers Run

Builth and District RC splash their way to victory in the Presteigne two rivers dash, from the gun Jonny Pugh set the pace with last years victor Wye valley runner Matt James in hot pursuit, at the half way point Jonny had extended his lead on Matt to 30 seconds, not far behind was Celia Speake taking the lead in the female category.  With Bad RC runner Nicole Johnson in third, Ian Davies feeling under the weather but still holding second in the vet 55 category, then the first of two river crossings appeared all the Builth runners were like ducks to water and made light work them, a special mention must go to Christine Bartholomew, who turned the wrong way and preceded for 2 miles until a passerby showed her the error and retraced her foot steps and continued, caught and passed runners who had a big lead on her.

Results Jonny Pugh 1st (course record)

             Celia Speake 1st female,

             Ian Davies 2nd vet 55,

Nicole Johnson 1st female vet 35

Sunday 15th May saw four Builth and District Club members compete in the St Michaels Hereford Half Marathon with a record entry of over seven hundred.  The leaders arrived at the first mile mark with two yellow vests in the first group Jonny Pugh and Tim Iveson showing the way.  By mile 6 Jonny and two others had pulled a small lead with Tim in a strong 4th, at mile 10 Jonny had increased the pace and taken a good lead and Tim had been joined by the 5th placed runner, then the tension mounted when the leaders arrived at the race course no marshals where in place to direct the runners and Jonny proceeded to go the wrong way with second also going the wrong way.  After frantic shouting Jonny finished in first 1:14, Tim 5th with a PB 1:17, Ian Davies was 3rd v55 1:40 and Jane Kerr 2:07.  Well done to all.
