4th Dec Builth cross country at Fforest Fields

This weekend saw Builth & District running club host the
3rd round of the Herefordshire cross country league, conditions were
wet under feet but the pace was relentless from Herefords Jon Barnes who set an
amazing time of 36:02 for the six mile lap, with Jonny Pugh and Tim Iveson of
the Builth club in second and third respectfully with Rhayader ac Stafford Rees
in 5th, debutant from the Builth club was Ieuan Price 4th
in the junior category Clara Evans Hereford & county was 1st
female Ruth Johnstone Malvern 2nd,Alison Champ wye valley 3rd,
Builth & District’s Hannah Nottle was 1st senior female with
club mate Christine Bartholomew 3rd,

3rd of September -Across Wales,

On a very dark but mild night Celia Speake lined up for breakfast (3:30am ) then off to the start of 45 miles from Clun to clarach bay,having to check in and out of 5 check points ,the conditions from hafran to bow street were awful with driving rain and visibility down to 20 metres a slight detour added 2 mile to the total,Celia and the Prestiegne pacers who guided her all the way finished in 11:55 and provisionally celia was first lady home, and as a team 11th home overall


29th August -Race the Train,

Jennie and Emma Conti ran the course together in the muddy conditions  2:31

15th May The Hereford Half Marathon,

on a very windy day BaD RC were well represented with Tim Iveson finding form and having a convincing win 1:17

8th May Blackpool 10k

Celia Speake took advantage of a day at the seaside to run in the 10k amongst a massive field of 3000 runners and finished 20th  lady overall 45:03

30th April and 1st of May The Red Kite Challange,

Dave Mann was the only BaD rc runner on the 11 mile race with a pb of 1:55.
Celia Speake and Neil Lawrence took on the 18 mile run the following day 2:46.

17th April-Shobdon wood 6,

We took a good team of seven runners to Leominster for this muti-terrain race,
Jonny Pugh had a comfy win overall,

17th April- Virgin London Marathon .

Jennie Conti was our sole representative this year ,and managed to get a good for age place in next years marathon with qualifing time of 1:15 Jen made it by 1 second ,in a time of 1:14:59

 April 2nd-Radnor Ramble 25 mile multi terrain,

Celia Speake Jack Parry and Neil Lawrence joined forces with Prestigne pacers for this strenuous event.

6 March 2011 - Llanelli Half Marathon

Perfect running conditions were the order of the day for the nine Builth & District members with outstanding performances by all,

27 February 2011- Cross country league Presteigne

 Tim Iverson 2nd senior

With Jennie Conti and Jack Parry winning the series overall in age groups.

Well done to all other members who took part in the Hereford league series.

20 February 2011 - Rhayader Rant

Tim Iveson was our sole representative in the Rhayader Rant with weather conditions very poor and visibility down to a few metres he did an amazing job to finish 4th. Well done Time.

6 February 2011- Herefordshire Cross country league at Hundred House (Hosted by our goodselves)

Last Sunday saw the Herefordshire Cross country league cross Offa’s Dyke into mid Wales’s small hamlet of Hundred House, with Builth &District rc hosting the forth round at the fforest fields campsite by kindpermission of George & Katie Barstow, with conditions more suitable to Kite flying than Running.

Nearly 130 athletes lined up at the start, men having to complete 6 miles of very undulating terrain with the first three home in an
amazing time of less than 39 minutes, one of which was host club member Tim Iveson (Builth & Dist)in second  
just behind Wye Valley runner Jon Barnes, with John Pullen (wye valley) one second adrift,   the battle of the day was between
Builth`s  Jack Parry and club mate Neil Lawrence with jack taking the spoils.

The ladies had to contend with the same elevation as the men but cut off a couple miles short, the first three back were Emma Gooderham(Malvern) Sue Davies (Croft Ambery) and Ruth Johnstone(Malvern)

Builth had two other victories with Jack Parry winning vet55 and Jennie Conti also winning the female vet 55 category.

A wonderful but windy day was had by all involved.
